Designer Car Parking Shade with Laser-Cut Panels, Runda

This Runda client wanted their car parking shade to double as an architectural feature rather than a purely functional cover. The brief called for decorative detailing that would stand out against the property's stone-clad, arch-columned entrance rather than a plain fabric canopy.

Elatec's design answer was a curved cantilever structure finished in a vivid blue tensile fabric, with laser-cut floral pattern panels fitted into triangular inserts at each wing tip and corner joint, a level of decorative fabrication well beyond Elatec's standard carport range. The photos show the full build process, from two technicians welding the curved steel frame on site through to the finished structure with its ornate corner panels catching the light.

The completed shade now covers the parking court in a sweeping blue canopy, its laser-cut detailing visible from both underneath and from the street, giving this Runda property a carport that functions as a genuine architectural centrepiece rather than a purely practical addition.
