Curved-Roof Car Parking Shade, Makueni

This Makueni project called for a curved-roof design rather than the flat cantilever style used on most of Elatec's carports, an arched steel frame that gives the structure a distinct architectural silhouette along the length of the parking run.

Elatec fabricated a series of curved steel arches running along the parking bays, each rising from angled support legs and tied together to form a continuous vaulted roofline. The cream tensile fabric was fitted across the full curve, following the arch's profile rather than sitting flat.

The finished structure gives the property a distinctive, gallery-like covered parking run, a different visual statement from a standard cantilever shade, suited to a site where the parking structure itself is part of the property's overall architectural presentation.
